As we all know, the past few years have been a rollercoaster ride, and the music industry is no exception. With the global pandemic and the complete shutdown of music venues and recording studios, Jann and his team had to get creative in order to bring “Surrender” to life. Despite the obstacles, Jann and his co-writer, Alex Forbes, worked together bi-weekly at her apartment in Manhattan to pour their souls into the songs.
Producer Marcus Dembinski and Jann worked together in their home studios in Manhattan and Queens, adding live instruments at Studio G Brooklyn with engineer Cyril Putzer when it became possible. The rest of the recording was done remotely, with musicians from all over the world coming together to bring Jann’s vision to life. Max Sternlicht, who played all the amazing bass lines you hear on the album, still hasn’t even met Jann in person! Dimitris Menexopoulos recorded his Cretan Lyra in Greece, and Ben Kesler mastered “Surrender” in St. Louis, MO.

Jann Klose returns to South Africa at the end of March for the ‘Surrender’ Album Tour, which will see Jann perform in the Western Cape, KZN and Gauteng. First date announced is for March 30th at CAFÉ ROUX in Noordhoek (Cape Town) and tickets are on sale HERE.
