If you’re looking for a high-energy, unforgettable musical experience, then look no further than DROMMEDARIS DRUM DUO! This dynamic father-daughter duo has taken the local music scene by storm with their unique blend of EDM trance covers and synchronized drum patterns, all performed on plastic water drums.

The story of DROMMEDARIS DRUM DUO begins in the midst of lockdown when their plans to emigrate to Florida fell through. Hans Drommedaris and Alika du Plessis, the duo behind DROMMEDARIS DRUM DUO, had just sold their music schools and all their belongings in preparation for their move, and they were left in need of a new plan.
And then, a stroke of creative genius: they tied a bunch of drums to a ladder and took a picture. The video of their first performance went viral, and they’ve been making music and entertaining audiences ever since!
Hans Drom, as he’s known, has been involved in the music industry for nearly his entire life. Growing up in a family band, he learned to play the drums from his mother at just four years old. After a six-year stint working in the correctional service and playing in the army band, he became an Afrikaans comedy singer for over 20 years and eventually started six music schools, where he trained over 1,000 students in the art of drumming.
His daughter Alika, on the other hand, has been playing the drums since she was just three years old and has been giving drum and guitar lessons since she was 11. After experiencing bullying at school, Alika decided to pursue home schooling and focus on her music, and she’s been making waves ever since.
Together, Hans and Alika are DROMMEDARIS DRUM DUO, and they’re making a big impact on the local music scene. They’ve had the privilege of sharing the stage with some of South Africa’s biggest names in music, including Francois van Coke, Jack Parow, Nádine, and many more. They’ve also performed at some of the country’s biggest venues, including Sun City’s Valley of the Waves and Kloof holiday resort.
DROMMEDARIS DRUM DUO is a truly unique experience, offering an energetic and melodic drum concert with synchronized drum patterns and singing, all performed on plastic drums. No one else in South Africa is doing what they’re doing, and audiences of all ages have been drawn to their shows for an unforgettable experience.
So, if you’re ready to rock, be sure to catch DROMMEDARIS DRUM DUO in action. These two talented musicians are making a big impact on the local music scene, and they’re just getting started!
