Now, if you’re anything like me, a fan of theatre that holds a melody, story, and dollop of fine art, you might want to get your diaries out. Why, you ask? Well, there’s a rather remarkable piece of musical cabaret on its way that’s set to knock your socks off. Yes, you read that right: a musical cabaret called ‘VINCENT‘ is about to grace the Theatre on the Square in Sandton, and you certainly wouldn’t want to miss it.

VINCENT is the brainchild of the trio, Amanda Bothma, Jacques du Plessis, and Germaine Gamiet. These masterminds have whipped up a theatrical experience that’s nothing short of spectacular. Don’t take my word for it; the proof’s in the pudding, with VINCENT recently earning a nod from the prestigious Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards.
INCENT delves into the life and soul of Vincent Van Gogh, the artist who was an embodiment of a relentless drive for artistic fulfilment and, most importantly, genuine human connection. The show is a harmonious blend of popular musical theatre, pop, rock, and jazz numbers. However, these aren’t just your standard tunes, but rather, a reimagined symphony that resonates with Van Gogh’s unwavering pursuit of love.
The performance stars Daniel Anderson, with Germaine Gamiet lighting up the stage on the piano. VINCENT is a rollercoaster of emotions, guiding you through the passionate existence of Van Gogh. From the start to the finish, this compelling production guarantees to leave you spellbound.
Critics can’t seem to get enough of VINCENT. Rod Amner was utterly hooked, “from the first note till the last.” Talk about an endorsement, eh?
Fancy a night out packed with music, storytelling, and artistic brilliance? VINCENT, presented by Wela Kapela Productions and Daphne Kuhn, is your ticket.
Mark your calendars, folks! VINCENT will take centre stage at Theatre on the Square from the 31st of May till the 10th of June. Tickets are available here:
