The Spells That We Speak

Do you believe in spells? I’m not talking about Sabrina the teenage witch kind of magic but more spells that might be a lot more common than you might think. How about if someone sings the alphabet song “A, B, C, D, E, F, G” – now let’s replace that song and imagine someone singing to you the song Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday to You

Happy Birthday Dear (name)
Happy Birthday to You.

Technically this would be an aging spell so that your mind knows every year that you are a year older. Think about it. Every year on the day of your birth, you get serenaded by strangers, by family and friends, heck sometimes even in the supermarket when swiping your loyalty card. The song that is universally known for your birthday is the Happy Birthday song. Technically, this song equates to the receiver turning a year older. Aging right in front of their eyes…

Now, what about if we speak to our kids? We tend to speak to our kids like they are small and not so bright, face it, your child might be a toddler that recently put a show in their mouth and you just rolled your eyes and got on with your life. Now Imagine if someone spoke to you like you might speak to a child all while you are a full-grown adult? Sounds silly, doesn’t it? You would probably be offended by it.

If you treat someone like they are dumb or not so bright right from a young age, you are kind of setting them up for failure don’t you think? Language, AKA words, is powerful. There is magick in words. There is power in words. Words can change your life, for the better, for the worst, or just simply… change the outcome of a situation.

The fact that we are living in a world with so many different cultures and beliefs can be quite hectic because if we all understood each other, we would live a far more peaceful life. But instead, we all speak different languages, with different interpretations of what is being said about us and about others. Culutural differences based on race, religions, regions of where we live etc can really impact our verbal and non-verbal actions that are perceived by others.

At the end of the day, it’s all spells in some form or another. You are told to hate someone or dislike someone. You are told you are getting older. You are told you can or cannot achieve certain things all through the communication form of spoken words.

“…But the human tongue is a beast that few can master. It strains constantly to break out of its cage, and if it is not tamed, it will run wild and cause you grief.”

We believe in the things we are taught as a child. This means if you are taught segregation or discrimination, many people would stick to that as an adult. If you are taught to be strong and motivated, to believe in miracles. You would most likely bring that to your adult life too.

Spells of all kinds arise through the spoken word. Good and bad. What you speak out into the universe is powerful and what the universe hears, the universe enhances in your own personal life.

So be careful what you say to yourself or to others. Words have more meaning than you might realise.
