Emergency Survival Kit Check List

Life could be uncertain. One moment, you can be watching your favourite Netflix show and the next you could be in a real-life episode of war of the worlds.

Whether you need a survival kit for emergencies or just for the novelty. It is important to make sure you have all the essentials for just in case.

Emergency bags or Survival kits could be used for natural disasters, like earthquakes, flooding, or in cases of severe fires causing havoc. It could be used during times of abuse, if you need to escape, or if your life is in danger such as during riots, looting, and protesting.

…or, if you believe in the more supernatural parts of life. Aliens could be attacking, the living dead (zombies) could rise up or the mole people can make an appearance. All that would send you running into the hills, well…. unless it’s the hill people coming for you.

Let’s take a look at what you might need to pack in your survival kit:

  • Bottled water. Hydration is key. Having a bottle to fill up with is even better, but you might not be sure if you would find clean water out there in the wild.
  • Food that comes in easy-to-open cans (at least a one-day supply). Easy open because you might not have a can opener or the time.
  • Prescription medication for a week and paper copies of your prescriptions. Why paper copies? Well your doomsday emergency might be nothing serious and within a week you might need a re-fill on those medications that you cannot pronounce in real life.
  • Small first aid kit, comfort is key. Bigger might be better, but what if you need to walk far or even run?
  • Blanket/throw, small and compact or the preferred an emergency thermal blanket. Even smaller, but so much more effective.
  • Sturdy shoes/boots. Can you outrun rioters heading your way in flip flops? Can you climb if you need to climb?
  • Warm clothes, rain gear and hats.
  • Extra pair of glasses and/or hearing aid. Well i said extra, but just have what you need to see and hear.
  • Personal hygiene items (include soap, wipes, toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, toothbrush and toothpaste)
