The Something Guy: One Year Later

Near the end of 2019 I decided to finally embrace my slight weirdness and creativeness and created Setting out no expectations. No goals or targets to reach. My only mindset was to create as much content, learn as much as possible, and just really ‘try my best’ for one entire year. This year was 2021.

Not monetizing it. Not linking it to any kind of adverts or gaining anything financially from it. Simply giving myself one year to explore and go for it!

Well one year later, the STATS are in.

In 2021 I had 7515 people visit my website (direct visits) and they collectively viewed my articles 11 482 times. While on my social media platforms, I am close to reaching 7000 Followers. That is absolutely crazy for me to see.

This is on Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram, WordPress, and others.

I am exceptionally satisfied with the ‘one year later’ results, but even more happy with the fact that I did it. One full year of just allowing myself to simply be my best.

In 2021 my best blog post article, however, still baffles me – it turned out to be one I wrote super quickly, called Ruining Your Childhood: Let’s Discuss Mort. Discussing interesting and quite bizarre facts about Mortdecai the little squishy character from All hail King Julien and Madagascar. Check it out.

The second most viewed one was My Guide To a Plant-Based Lifestyle in South Africa (2021) This one was close to my heart, and truly the messages I received from this post were inspiring.

Then one of my posts, which I really thoroughly enjoyed the most called Sex, Gender and Sexuality, got probably one of the least amounts of views (oh dear! haha)

But at the end of 2021 and for the start of 2022 I just want to say thank you for all your support and love. My first full year of this new journey and I am truly appreciating each and every one of you! I have learned so much, and honestly… I am so excited for 2022, and what I get to experience and create next!

Happy New Year Everyone! Have a blessed 2022!

Stay Curious! Stay Blessed!

If you are enjoying my blog and would love to show support, how about buying me a coffee?
